Set in the stunning Lake District National Park, The Gateway is an exquisite hotel, restaurant and bar  which is open all year round. Often described as 'the friendliest eatery for miles' we have built a reputation for fantastic food, great hospitality and unforgettable stays.

Originally built as a private country house in the 1800s, before being transformed into a hostelry and later a public house, The Gateway has always held a majestic and imposing position in the Lake District countryside.

The business was acquired by local directors Josh Macaulay and Chris Moss in 2020 as part of the Westmorland Hospitality group and now provides fine dining, alfresco drinking and accommodation.
